Med sin unike teft for gode melodier og sterke tekster har SOFYE blitt sammenlignet med artister som Future Island, Laleh og poptrioen HAIM
Debutalbumet «There`s Gotta Be More» fikk god omtale i media, og flere av låtene ble listet på radiokanaler landet rundt. Etter det har har SOFYE sluppet en rekke singler som har blitt spilt på kanaler som P3, P1 og P13. Låten The Wheel ble blant annet kåret til Månedens singel av Natt og Dag.
Mai 2017 slapp SOFYE EP`en «Love and Steel» og på det bergenske plateselskapet Raindrops. Første singel fra utgivelsen, A Foreigner, fikk bra rotasjon både på P3 og P13, i tillegg til vesentlig spilletid på en av Sveriges største radiokanaler. Tittelsporet Love and Steel ble raskt listet på NRK P1 og lå på A-listen i flerfoldige uker. I tillegg havnet den på Viral Top 50 Norge som en av de mest delte norske låtene første uken etter utgivelse.
Bergens tidende omtale første singel ut fra det kommende andre albumet, «Kid at heart» som «en smart og skummelt fengende låt fra en låtskriver som har full kontroll på de beste låtskrivertriksene i boken».
SOFYE finner inspirasjon i livet på godt og vondt, i tro og tvil. Men også i jobben som musikkterapeut innen psykisk helsevern.
– Musikkterapi er noe jeg brenner for og og sier mye om hvem jeg er som artist. Jeg ønsker å formidle håp og frihet med låtene mine.
SOFYE har mye live-erfaring og spilt på scener som Lille Ole Bull, USF Verftet, Tall Ship Races, Biblioteket bar, Kvarteret, Hulen, Musikkfest i Bergen og Stavanger, Ricks, Uhørt, Stordfest, Skjærdgårds music & mission festival, THE THIEF unplugged, Parkteateret, Chagall og flere andre steder rundt omkring i Norge. Hun har også turnert i Afrika (Kapp Verde) og ble plukket ut som en av to norske artister til å spille på «Artists in the plus» sin festival i London i 2016.

After the debut album, SOFYE has released a number of singles. One of them, «The Wheel,» was voted as the single of the month by the magazine «Natt og dag» in Bergen. May 2017, SOFYE finally released her brand new EP «Love and Steel» (Raindrops). The first single, «A Foreigner» has been aired well on both P3 and P13 and received significant play-time on one of Sweden’s largest radio stations. The title track «Love and Steel» was listed on Norway´s biggest radio channel NRK P1 for 13 weeks. The single also got on Norway top viral 50 Spotify playlist as one of the most shared songs during the first week of its release.
Bergens tidende revived the first single from her upcoming second album, «Kid at heart» as «a clever and ridiculously catchy song from a songwriter who has full control of the best songwriting tricks in the book».
SOFYE finds inspiration for her music through the good and the bad parts of life, through the times of faith and the times of doubt. Her career as a music therapist in the mental health care field also gives her motivation for her music.
– Music therapy is something I burn for; it says a lot of who I am as an artist. I want to convey hope and freedom with my songs.
SOFYE has a lot of live experience and has performed on stages such as Lille Ole Bull, Verftet (BT Prize), Tall Ship Races, Biblioteket Bar, kvarteret, hulen, The Music Festival in Bergen and Stavanger, Ricks, Stordfest, Skærdgårds Music & Mission Festival , THE THIEF unplugged, Park Theater, Chagall and several other places around Norway. She has toured Africa (Cape Verde) and was chosen as one of two Norwegian artists to play at the London festival, ”Artists in the plus,” in 2016.
